Dear Parents and Students,
Whew! Can it get any hotter? I hope you are relaxing, staying cool and having a wonderful fun-filled summer! I’m sure there will be lots of exciting stories to tell of your summer adventures and we can’t wait to hear them!
Pecan Street Christian Academy is excited about the upcoming school year and it will be here before we know it! Class lists will be posted on August 20, 2010, “Meet your Teacher” day.

NOTICE: Please look at the Supply List and Uniform Code, as revision may have been made.
*Missing Paperwork: Each student’s file must be complete prior to August 23, 2010, or your child may not be able to start school on time. Please submit any missing paperwork or information ASAP. If you are not able to drop the paperwork at our office (9:00am-4:00pm) or at Giggles & Grins (open 6:00am-6:30 pm), send it by mail. Please DO NOT wait until school starts to bring the missing paperwork.
*Immunizations: Make sure your immunizations are up to date- Consult your doctor. You will want to begin this before August - due to the back to school rush.
*Meet Your Teacher Day: Friday, August 20, 2010, 10:00 am – 12 noon. Bring your child, see the classroom, and meet his/her teacher. This is a great day to bring your school supplies!
*Orientation: Friday, August 20, 2010, 12 noon –1:00pm. Required for all new parents of K4-8th grade students. Plan to “Meet your Teacher” and stay for Orientation. Returning students/parents are welcome to attend also.
*Lunch Fee: The daily lunch fee is $3.00 (includes milk). Milk only- $ .50, or you may bring your lunch.
*Lockers: 5th, 6th, 7th, & 8th graders should bring a combination lock. Parents, I suggest purchasing the lock a few weeks before school and letting your child practice locking and unlocking it. I also encourage you to have them memorize the combination. Let them know that their combination is a secret number that they should not tell to their friends. The number will be kept on file at school. If the original lock is replaced at any time during the school year, notify your homeroom teacher.
*Uniforms: French Toast Catalogs are available in the school office. (Link available on our website)
Standardized Dress Code – Uniforms may be purchased at any uniform retailer, such as, but not limited to, Wal-Mart, Academy, J.C. Penney’s, Sears, and other independent uniform stores. In addition to these retailers, PSCA has an account set up with French Toast Uniform Company. You may purchase uniforms during the year as needed. French Toast catalogs will be available in the office. Please read the revised PSCA Handout carefully and call if you have any questions. When ordering, use the school source code QS5CDIJ and French Toast will give 5% of all net sales back to our school. Boy and girl ties will be available in the office for $6.00 each or you may purchase from any Uniform retailer.
*Chapel Shirts:
All chapel shirts must have the school name and logo embroidered. Shirts may be ordered from French Toast with the embroidery included, or bought from other uniform retailer. Shirts bought elsewhere need to be brought into the school office by September 1, 2010, and we will be take to JA Davis to be embroidered at the same time. The cost is $6.00/ shirt and is payable at the time of drop off.
*Gym Shirts, Spirit Shirts, Jacket, Sweater, and Hoodie Order Form:
Uniform jacket, sweater, and/or hoodie may only be ordered through the school office. See order form for additional information. All orders will be placed September 3, 2010.
Gym Shirts: Required for all 5th – 8th graders- purchased through school office. This t-shirt is the same as last year. See order form for additional information.
Note: Gym shorts should be solid navy and the appropriate length. They may be purchased at “Academy” or other retailer.
Spirit Shirts: Continued for the 2010-2011 School Year! (Optional for all grade levels)
Students are able to order a PSCA spirit T-shirt by in the school office. Students are allowed to wear spirit T-shirts, tucked in, each Friday with any uniform bottom- NO JEANS.
